Living & leading in integrity

“Am I leading and living in integrity, or energetic alignment, with who I am?”

As business leaders with a wide range of responsibilities, a seemingly endless list of decisions to make and tasks to accomplish, stopping to consider whether you are approaching all areas of your life in energetic alignment with who you are may seem like a luxury.

And yet, if we fail to prioritize recognizing what leads to the fluctuation in our energy levels, we are ignoring valuable information about who we are and how to live a life in harmony with our soul.

🪫 When do you notice your energy drop to the lowest of lows? 🪫

🚀 When do you notice your energy shoot up like a rocket? 🚀

One area of my life where I notice my energy shoot way up is when I get to run the “Fireball 50/50 Raffle Hole” at my family’s annual charity golf tournament in honor of my late brother-in-law, Nathan “Chewy” Bliss. Selling flaming red golf balls to play the “closest to the pin” game is one way we raise funds to support other organizations that help veterans in need and at-risk youth, two causes that are in energetic alignment with who Nate was.

This event is a very telling opportunity for me to watch my energy levels, as the joy I feel at the event is also met by waves of sadness and drops in my energy when I remember that the event is happening because he is no longer here.

When I honor the sadness by acknowledging it and allowing it to move through me, I can also truly feel the full expression of joy that stems from the charity work we do through our organization.

As leaders, when we don’t notice, acknowledge and welcome our full range of feelings and emotions, we interrupt the free flow of energy in our system. This is one way we can become out of integrity, or energetic wholeness, with ourselves. This also leads to us closing ourselves off from what the emotion has to teach us.

Emotional Literacy is one of The Four Pillars of Integrity created by Dr. Kathlyn Hendricks of The Hendricks Institute. In The Conscious Leadership Group’s version of this model, they refer to this pillar as Emotional Intelligence. Impeccable Agreements, Healthy Responsibility, and Conscious Communication are the other three pillars of integrity.

The more we do to lead and live in energetic alignment with who we are, the more energy we have to give back to the world in ways that light us up.

when was the last time you asked yourself, “Am I leading and living in integrity, or energetic alignment, with who I am?”
